We have an active Mission and Service committee at West Plains who helps us reach out to our community and the world around us. We give generously to the Mission and Service fund of the United Church of Canada that supports many organizations and worthwhile projects locally and globally.
We also regularly support our local United Church mission outreach centre, Wesley Urban Ministries, in Hamilton, including a major contribution before Christmas of food and gifts. We make regular donations to the food bank in our community, Partnership West. We also support the Carpenter Hospice, Habitat For Humanity and other local outreach initiatives.
Each year the Mission and Service committee organizes a worship service featuring an outreach ministry.
