NURSERY CARE
We are pleased to offer Nursery Care at West Plains for infants under 3 years of age in a bright, cheery atmosphere on the same level and close to our church sanctuary. The Nursery is staffed each week between September and June with a dependable, caring adult who has already provided a current Police Records Check.
The Nursery has a rocking chair, toys, and a crib. There is a Family Washroom within a few steps that has a new diaper change station.
Babies and infants are always welcome in our church worship service with their parent(s), or you may ask our staff to watch your child, or you may use the Nursery with your child. We have an additional newly renovated study room where you can be with your child privately for feeding if you wish.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Our Sunday School (ages 3-11) at West Plains is a small, comfortable place to learn about God through stories, crafts, movies and song! The Sunday School children attend the first 10-15 minutes of our worship service in the sanctuary where they meet with the minister for a few words of scripture and conversation. Then they leave for their class which is just outside the sanctuary on the same level. The classroom is bright and warm and well stocked with craft supplies and teaching equipment.
Our Sunday School teachers are dedicated to the children and all have provided a current Police Records Check. Several times a year our children take part in worship, and once a year they plant a garden at the front of the church known as the "Children’s Garden". This garden is a beautiful back- drop to many a wedding at West Plains. The Sunday School also take part in the Case For Kids Walk for summer camps at Wesley Urban Ministries, and the Terry Fox walk-run-ride in the fall.

YOUTH GROUP AT WEST PLAINS UNITED
At West Plains we have an active Youth program. As soon as a young person turns 12 years old they are eligible for our Youth group. We have an excellent Youth leader, Megan Groves, who has grown up at West Plains, and who has a good mix of leadership and friendship to offer young people.
The Youth group meet during Worship most Sundays from September to June. They also have periodic "sleep-overs" at the church. The Youth Group also take part in church activities such as our worship and dinner at Wesley Urban Ministries and any fund raising events. Some years the Youth group also go on a camping trip to Algonquin Park in the summer.
We are very proud of our Youth at West Plains – they are lively, engaging and teach us a lot about God and how to be a church!
